Things To Bring To Keep Yourself Healthy

With the COVID-19 pandemic currently happening, it’s important for all of us to stay at home as much as possible to help prevent the spread and flatten the curve. But if you must go out, you have to be equipped with the proper must-haves to lessen the chance of you contracting the virus. Here are the things you need to bring to keep yourself healthy amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alcohol and sanitizers

It’s recommended by health organizations to wash your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds. But if a bathroom is not nearby for you to wash with soap, having an alcohol or sanitizer in your pocket is always handy. If what you’re using has at least 60% alcohol content, it’s considered effective in killing the virus. Of course, most establishments have sanitizers at the ready so take advantage of that so you don’t run out for your personal use.

Face masks

This is also a must to protect both you and the people around you from getting infected. While before, surgical masks were the most recommended, recent developments have also encouraged the use of cloth masks. This is because these surgical and respirator masks are intended for healthcare workers. With the shortage of personal protective equipment, it’s best to leave those masks for essential personnel. But don’t forget to regularly wash your cloth masks for repeat usage.

Last but not the least, you also need to have your vitamins with you at all times. You never know when it’s time to drink your daily dose, so it’s good to have it while you’re going out. While there’s no clear causation between drinking vitamins and avoiding the disease, having a strong immune system is better than a weak one. This is especially apparent when mostly immunocompromised individuals have been suffering the worst of the virus. Try to look at vitamins that can improve your immune system and get supplements of those.

These are the basic necessities you need to have on hand during the times you need to go out. But as always, isolation and social distancing are more effective ways of combating the spread and flattening the curve. Always follow quarantine guidelines and don’t go out unless it’s absolutely necessary. That way, you don’t get the virus and possibly harm the people in your household.
